1. Ben Tryer has a difficult time choosing what side he wants to be in this debate in his home town, Homer. So, he does his own research by staying up late and printing out papers and reading. He researched the question if immigration is a good or bad thing to where he lives. He also watched interviews and tried to get different perspectives of information, not just research. Ben tried to do this with an open mind and only formed his opinion on the facts that he found. However, this is much harder than one thinks and his or her own bias can get in the way very easily. He used many different primary and secondary sources and read many different things that really were effecting how he was thinking. Eventually Ben says that this questions the way that he views the world and his research seemed very draining.

2. To make sure a source is credible the first thing that I would do is to make sure that the piece as a author and a recent date. By recent, I mean within the past ten years. Also, I look up reviews about this website and see what other people have to say about it. I believe that sources that end in .edu and .org are the most credible. This is because that means they are from an organization or educational website which is more trustworthy in my opinion. I don’t think that people can discuss controversial issues without being bias. This is because when talking about major topics people always try to throw in their own opinions even if they try so hard not to.

3. I am researching the healthy lifestyle/ gym community of people between the ages of 18-21 at FSU. I decided to research this topic because I think that being " skinny " and having a good body at this school is very important. I am also trying to go on my own healthy lifestyle journey so I feel like writing this topic could be something that I can relate to.
