1. I chose to summarize armadillo road kill. The author Kyle Stedman defines this as " dropping gin a quotation without introducing it first." In this paragraph Stedman gives many different examples of how people insert quotations incorrectly. However, further down in the paragraph he explains that you have to signal your readers and let them know that there is a quote coming. This is so that the readers can fully understand the situation that they are reading about. After explaining how to do this, Stedman shows an example that is written correctly.
Ex: Today I was riding my bike in the park and I saw my friend Sam across the park, I started to shout her name " Sam hey come over here !!"
Ex: Going to a large school can be especially difficult if you don’t know anyone. I always get nervous walking into the dining hall until one day my friend Joe said " hey Sam why don’t you come sit with us." Ever since then I’ve never had to eat alone!
2. In my writing I think I use " Am I in the Right Movie?" a little too much. Stedman says to fix this that you I should start to read my essays outlook and this will help me see if I made a mistake in my quotations.
3. As a college professor I would rank them: Armadillo Road kill, Uncle Barry and his Encyclopedia of Useless Information, I Can't find the stupid link, I swear I did some Research, dating Spider-Man, and Am I in the Right Movie? However, reading from a more flexible genre such as newspaper editor, popular blogger or another student I would rank them: Am I in the Right Movie? I swear I did some Research, I Can't find the stupid link. Armadillo Roadkill, Uncle Barry and his Encyclopedia of Useless Information, dating Spider-Man. My order changed a lot because I think that when you are writing different pieces that you can be more lenient with certain rules.
